Server+ certification
CompTIA’s Server+ certification is a mid-to upper-level certification for technicians responsible for server hardware functionality. The Server+ exam is aimed at individuals with 18–24 months experience using hardware functionality, including server installation, troubleshooting, support, and second-level support. This exam is a good step towards higher-level certifications such as Microsoft’s MCSE. The Server+ exam combined with the A+ exam counts as an elective towards Microsoft’s MCSA certification.
The Server+ certification credential validates advanced-level technical competency of server issues and technology, including installation, configuration, upgrading, maintenance, troubleshooting and disaster recovery.
CompTIA recommend that Server+ exam candidates possess the A+ and Network+ certifications, although this isn’t a prerequisite to taking this exam.
As with all CompTIA certifications, once a candidate has achieved the Server+ certification, the certification will not expire.
